1-on-1 Coaching & Consulting

Your biggest edge, built off the ice.

Where good players become great.

A long-term partnership between player, parent, and coach. Leadership, mindset, goal setting, and training structure, with on-ice skill work woven throughout.

More than drills and ice time.

Most players don't plateau because of their skill work. They plateau because nobody is helping them build the habits around the game: how they prepare, how they recover, how they set goals, how they lead on and off the ice, how they handle adversity.

BW Hockey Coaching & Consulting is a long-term, high-touch engagement focused on the off-ice foundation that makes the on-ice work stick. We still analyze shifts, prescribe drills, and review video. But the center of the program is the player as a whole person: their planning, their mentality, their leadership, their life.

What we work on

Four pillars, one player.

Goal setting & planning

Monthly goal calls. Quarterly reviews. Clear targets you can measure, broken into weekly and daily actions the player owns.

Mentorship & leadership

Conversations about mentality, pressure, confidence, teammates, coaches, and the challenges that come with being a serious athlete.

Training structure

Dryland, prehab, gym, skating, and skills. Prescribed workouts the player can track and check off week to week, adjusted as the season evolves.

On-ice & video analysis

Shift analysis, drill recommendations, and video work to connect the off-ice plan to what shows up on game day.

The rhythm

How it works, month to month.

Month 1: Setup

  • Video meeting with player and parent to align on goals, expectations, and the season ahead.
  • Separate meeting with the parent to understand home life, schedule, and support structure.
  • 1 goal-setting consulting call with the player to build the initial plan.
  • 1 follow-up / analysis call: review early shifts, refine drills, and adjust training.

Months 2 and onward

  • 1 goal-setting call per month (goals, shift analysis, video work, suggested drills and training).
  • 1 follow-up / analysis meeting per month.
  • Check-ins every 14 days with the player by phone, email, or text (parents included as needed).
  • 90-day parent review to pull back, look at the arc, and plan the next quarter.

The player portal

Players and families get a secure portal to view focus areas, prescribed workouts, coach notes, a shared calendar, and upcoming check-ins. The player checks off exercises as they complete them and logs how they felt. Everything stays between player, parent, and coach.

Included extras

Bonuses for consulting players.

BW online shooting analysis

Up to 2 video shooting analyses per month at no additional cost. Send one clip from behind and one facing the shooter and receive a voice-over breakdown with adjustments.

Seasonal planning support

Pre-season, mid-season, playoff run, and off-season phases each get their own focus. The plan evolves with the calendar instead of staying static.

Not included: BW Skills sessions, Wildcats Spring Team registration, BW Hockey camps, or invite camps. Those are separate programs and priced separately.

The fit

Is this the right program?

A good fit if

  • The player is serious and self-motivated.
  • You want more than skill sessions: mentality, planning, leadership.
  • You value a long-term relationship with a coach who knows your player.
  • You're willing to do the off-ice work the plan calls for.

Probably not the right fit if

  • You only want on-ice reps. Private sessions or camps are better.
  • You want a quick fix before a tryout. This is a long-arc program.
  • The player isn't bought in. The program only works if they own it.
