Equity & Inclusion
Community Cares Initiative
Our commitment to Equity and Inclusion. We hope the Community Cares Initiative can help relieve the financial burden that is required to participate in Hockey and sports.
Through the Community Cares Initiative, players and families can be nominated by their fellow teammates, coaches, or local Hockey Association.
Awards
- $500 Voucher for hockey equipment at Kirby's Source for Sports
- Full Compensation for Participation in BW Hockey Summer Skills Academy (approx. value $1,000)

- Teammates
- Coaches
- Representatives of any local Hockey Association on Vancouver Island
Community Service & Volunteering
Biggest Assist Award
Our commitment to Community Service and Volunteering. We aim to encourage our BW Hockey community to lend a hand and support local charitable organizations within Vancouver Island.
The Biggest Assist Award will be granted to individuals who complete a minimum of 25 hours of Community Service and Volunteering at a local Charity of their choice.
Prizes
- Signed and Framed Hockey Jersey of a local hockey celebrity
- $2,000 donation to the charity the winner volunteered at
Eligibility
- Players registered with a Minor Hockey Association on Vancouver Island
